Charity: How effective is giving?

I find the motivations for why and how we give our time or money fascinating and the impact that happens from these donations. This video, from the Economist, explores the concept of philanthropy and it’s role in creating change in society. In particular it looks at the role of super-philanthropists, the billionaires of the world, their motivations and the criticisms that could be levied at the power that they have. Additionally it also features the work of The Funding Network (look to join them at one of their events), a charity I volunteer for and how they bring together those that want to see the difference their donation will make with small charities who often have very specific aims.
